Good times at DFL 2007 Belize Sept. 29 - Oct. 6

2007 Diving For Life SCUBA Jamboree was in beautiful Ambergis Caye, Belize Sept. 29th - Oct. 6th. Although the island survived 2 near misses from hurricanes Dean and Felix, the island was beautiful and showed little evidence of damage. The resorts were nice. DFL combined Mata Rocks and Banana Beach resorts to accommodate 150 of us. The days were long and pretty hot with temps nearing 90 with high humidity. Diving off Ambergris was very nice, boasting tons of nurse sharks, turtles, rays, soft corals, fish, and stunning topography. Many groups ventured out to other reefs like Turneffe and The Blue Hole. There was also a great interest in on-shore activities on the mainland, including rainforest tours, zipline tours, cave tubing and many tours to various Mayan ruins. Overall, it was a great trip and very nice to see old friends and make new ones.

In addition, our own Anthony Johnson has been elected to the DFL board of directors! Congratulations Anthony!

I have one more suprise for you. DFL 2008 has already been announced. Pack your bags, we are going to THAILAND October 2008!

DFL 2006 St. Lucia

DFL 2006 we had 6 SDRSC members who attended the Diving For Life jamboree at St. Lucia's outstanding Anse Chastanet resort. The water was beautiful, the reefs were healthy and vibrant, the resort was outstanding, and the experience was unforgettable. See Chad and Gregs St. Lucia 2006 photos here.

SDRSC attendees raised $2,459.00 to distribute to our own hometown charities! SDRSC gave part of the money to The Center and part to Stepping Stone.
